Enjoying the simple pleasures in life, like listening to the birds sing, feeling the dough in between your fingers, and climbing trees with your kids. That is what simple living is all about, it’s taking the time to be in the moment and appreciate your life.
In my continuing journey to a simpler life, I want to learn how to close the circle. For instance, I wanted to be able to craft my own sweater/jumper. For me, that doesn’t just mean that I would knit this jumper but that I would start from the ground up. I shore a sheep, combed the wool, spun the wool, then used that yarn to knit my jumper.
I want to learn as many crafts as I can for as long as I’m on this earth, but I mainly focus on food preparation and the needlecrafts. Apart from that, I also love gardening and animal husbandry.

A day in the life
Let me tell you about my day to day routine, I will cover my average weekday since weekends tend to be very chaotic. On Saturday mornings my husband and I quickly do what chores need doing and get breakfast ready, while our eldest gets herself ready and takes her sister out of her crib. My husband then gets the baby ready for the day and after breakfast we do something fun with all of us. On Sunday it goes much the same but the breakfast is then more of a brunch, it is a family tradition to have some freshly baked buns with a boiled egg for everyone.

My cloth diapering journey started years ago with the birth of my first daughter, I never even considered disposables. My mom used cloth nappies with me and my brother, and it felt only natural that I would do the same. But it didn’t exactly go as I had planned to, it felt far too complicated and cumbersome. But now with some trial and error, I have cracked it and now my cloth nappy routine is a breeze.
