Where do I see myself in 10 years, that is the big question is it not. We all have some idea of what we would like to have achieved in 10 years but the truth is however long 10 years sound, it just flies by. But today I shall focus on a mixture of the realistic and idealistic future.
Simple living
Enjoying the simple pleasures in life, like listening to the birds sing, feeling the dough in between your fingers, and climbing trees with your kids. That is what simple living is all about, it’s taking the time to be in the moment and appreciate your life.
In my continuing journey to a simpler life, I want to learn how to close the circle. For instance, I wanted to be able to craft my own sweater/jumper. For me, that doesn’t just mean that I would knit this jumper but that I would start from the ground up. I shore a sheep, combed the wool, spun the wool, then used that yarn to knit my jumper.
I want to learn as many crafts as I can for as long as I’m on this earth, but I mainly focus on food preparation and the needlecrafts. Apart from that, I also love gardening and animal husbandry.
So let’s create something with our hands today.
My favorite motivational quote for courage
“My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage.” – Aunt Frances”
My top 3 goals this year
A new year and new resolutions, this year instead of focusing on the smaller things as I did in previous years, I want to focus on some big goals. I usually focus on a specific skill for the year, like bread baking, knitting, meat preparation, or the year when I focused on making biscuits. But this last year we took a big step with our little family, and it felt good. So we have two big goals that will greatly impact our family and one that is more for me personally.
